The Pomegranate Project

The pomegranate market, valued at USD 1.5 billion in 2024, is projected to grow to USD 3.2 billion by 2033, with a CAGR of 9.2% from 2026 to 2033. Despite significant consumption in the Northeast and similar climates, no commercial pomegranate production occurs in these regions.

At Pleasant Valley Farms, we aim to enhance cold-hardy pomegranate cultivars like 'Salavatski' and 'Kazake' to develop commercially viable crops. This approach will serve as a model for cultivating other cold-hardy crops not yet commercially produced in these regions. By localizing production, we aim to deliver fresher, more nutritious crops while reducing the carbon footprint associated with transportation.
